ABV’s projects are implemented by volunteers drawn from its registry of senior business professionals and small business owners.
The business expertise of ABV’s volunteers is key to achieving our mission of strengthening business and economic institutions to enable a strong and vibrant private sector.
Our volunteers are generally mid to late career or in early retirement. They bring extensive experience to each project along with an independent and altruistic approach that guarantees effective and authentic skills transfer and mentoring. In addition the majority of our business volunteers have worked or volunteered before in the countries of our region.
Volunteering with ABV
All costs associated with the volunteer assignments are covered including flights, insurance, visas, accommodation and a modest daily living allowance.
ABV volunteer assignments range from one to three months in duration. Although our assignments are short-term, ABV is interested in registering people who can commit to ABV over the long-term, and potentially undertake multiple volunteer assignments, often with the same partner.
ABV’s experienced team of project managers support our volunteers through a series of funded registration, medical examinations and pre-departure briefings to equip them to undertake a successful project.
Upon return from a project, our volunteers are invited to join the ABV Alumni Program, continuing their involvement with ABV whilst in Australia.
If you have the skills and time available to undertake a range of short-term, business focused projects, we want to hear from you.
