Our Measuring and Impact Framework
ABV ensures all our assignments and programs are achieving impact through the application of our Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI) Framework.
The MERI Framework provides ABV with a road map to achieve our mission and a robust approach to monitoring and evaluating whether we are on track to achieve it. MERI informs the way we work, including how we identify the skills and qualities of the expert volunteers we recruit, the partners and communities we work with, our business model and our development approaches. The Framework sets our four clear outcomes, which if achieved indicate that our projects and programs are contributing to our mission. These four outcomes are:
- Improved socio-economic conditions
- Strong volunteer integration
- Community-driven partnerships
- Strong organisational capacity
The MERI Framework sets out our theory of change logically demonstrating how our foundational activities, and immediate project outputs effect these four outcomes over the long term. The different steps in the theory of change described in the Framework can also be used as indicators to evaluate whether our projects and programs are contributing to the achievement of the four key outcomes over the immediate, intermediate and long term.
