ABV are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Newcrest Mining, one of the world’s largest gold mining companies who are “committed to maintaining a safe environment for our people, operating and developing mines sustainably in line with our environmental standards, and building lasting relationships with the communities in which we operate.” ABV have spent time in Lihir working with local community and stakeholders to understand the true community business needs and develop a program that creates sustainable business and employment opportunities. “It is our mission to partner with corporates who are committed to positive community outcomes, and we’re delighted that our partnership with the mine will leave a legacy.” ABV CEO, Liz Mackinlay
Launching in 2019, the co-branded business service centre – Apeketon Business Hub – will open its doors to Lihirian businesses and entrepreneurs. Staffed by ABV skilled business professionals and PNG locals, the Business Hub will provide a unique offering of tailored business advice and solutions. Business support and services will be delivered to businesses based on individual needs. “This is not a one-size fits all program. We understand that local economic demands, market trends, and cultural expertise all play a pivotal role in offering business development and support services that provide relevant and lasting transferable knowledge and skills.” ABV is thrilled to announce this partnership and the unique product offering that it has presented for Lihirian communities.
Stay tuned over the coming months as we unroll this major project. If you’d like to find out more or learn how you could get involved, please contact us at info@abv.org.au.
