It’s National Volunteer Week during which we celebrate the efforts of the more than 6 million Australians who volunteer each year, and contribute $200 billion to the Australian economy.
Since our inception 34 years ago as the Australian Executive Services Overseas Program, ABV has placed volunteers on over 5,000 development projects across 34 countries.
We currently have 429 registered volunteers, 344 or 80% of whom have undertaken an ABV assignment, and 194 or 45% of whom have completed 2 or more ABV assignments.
We are grateful for the efforts of all our volunteers, without your commitment and expertise we wouldn’t be able to achieve our mission of alleviating poverty through strengthening business.
Over the last year, our volunteers have helped to alleviate poverty by building the capacities of not-for-profits, universities, small businesses and key government institutions in diverse areas including; business planning, sales marketing & promotion, business development, production processes, information technology management, human resources management, and financial management.
