The United Nations has designated 27 June 2017 as the first International Day for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises!
For ABV this is fantastic news as building the capacities of small business has been what we have been doing for more than 35 years.
It’s clear that the international community is beginning to acknowledge the crucial role that small businesses can play in achieving the sustainable development goals. More than 95 per cent of enterprises in the world are micro-, small- and medium-sized and they account for about 60 per cent of private sector employment.
Over the decades ABV has helped thousands of owners and managers across the Asia-Pacific to grow their businesses and in so doing have helped deliver development that is more sustainable and inclusive. We and our volunteers look forward to working with the international community to build the capacities of many thousands more in the years to come.
