ABV can certainly assist clients by sending a single volunteer expert to do a specified assignment. However, we find that it is often more effective to develop a program, or series, of assignments that assists an organisation develop and grow over a period of time.
We have successfully delivered programs to a range of clients. This includes assisting smaller organisations increase their corporate capacity and skills base to the implementation of national governance projects.
Scoping
Scoping involves a short visit by an ABV volunteer to assess the needs of a client. Through client engagement, observing the processes and environment, as well as reviewing relevant documents, the volunteer identifies a set of specific training needs.
Design
ABV designs a program and proposes it to the client. Open and honest dialogue is encouraged to further refine the goals, content and length of the program. A detailed and mutually agreed upon assistance program is ready for delivery at the completion of this phase.
Delivery
Assignments are carried out according to the agreed upon work plan.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitoring and evaluation are key activities included in all programs. ABV monitors each assignment through volunteer and client reports. An ABV Project Manager conducts an additional review of the program.
