ABV specialises in delivering targeted short-term assignments. The duration of each assignment ranges from 1 to 6 months. During this time, our highly skilled volunteer experts mentor clients on their specific business and organisational needs.
Objectives
The overall objective of each assignment is to increase business capacity and skills base. Specific objectives are measurable and clearly defined by ABV, in close consultation with the client, before the start of each assignment. Monitoring and evaluation occur throughout the assignment, with a final report completed by the client, volunteer expert and the ABV In-Country Manager (ICM).
Assignment Selection
Clients approach ABV with requests for assistance. The assignments ABV supports are firmly based on the concept of self-help. If the client is in a position to do so, they are asked to help provided accommodation and/or food for the volunteer expert.
Volunteer Selection
ABV only place a volunteer expert after first being approached by a client and identifying their specific needs. ABV provides clients with the resumes of the volunteers best equipped to help them achieve their objectives. Clients make the final decision on which volunteer they host. If ABV does not have a registered volunteer with specific skills, one is sourced via targeted recruitment using our extensive network of business partners and supporters.
