Regional Volunteer Groups

Returned volunteers may wish to make contact with other volunteers on their return home. There are several Regional Volunteer Groups (or "RVGs" for short) in most states and territories. RVGs are convened by returned volunteers who are elected into their positions. RVGs exist for the following main purposes:

  • Socialising: an opportunity to meet other ABV volunteers
  • Sharing: a chance to share assignment experiences
  • Information: for those considering applying to be a volunteer
  • Promotion: of ABV and the Australian Aid Program to the local community and local media
  • Communication: between volunteers and Head Office

ABV staff members liaises with all RVG Convenors on a regular basis. Please email the ABV Volunteer Officer at Kate.Lylle@abv.org.au for any information relating to RVGs stating "RVG Enquiry" in the title of the email.

Returned volunteers are eligible to apply for membership with ABV, and nominate for Returned Volunteer vacancies on the ABV Board.
