Apply To Be a Volunteer

If you believe you have the skills and experience required to be an ABV volunteer expert, please consider applying for registration.

Once ABV receives your application, including the two work referee reports, it will be assessed by Head Office. If this initial assessment is positive, an interview will be arranged to determine if you possess the necessary core competencies for working in developing communities. The interview will be conducted face-to-face if possible, by one of our trained interviewers (all returned volunteers) and will take about 45 minutes. Where a face-to-face interview is not possible, a telephone interview will be arranged. The application and registration process may take up to 10 weeks.

To apply, you should email or post us:

  • The Application Form (please obtain from ABV)
  • A scan of the page in your passport containing your photo and details
  • Two work Referee Reports
  • Your CV as a Word document
  • A passport size photo
